It might be the answer to your happiness.
Do you know who you are? Really know? You can imagine for a moment that you are composed of many different personality parts that make up the totality of who you are. Some of these parts are serving you and some are forgotten. Some are running the show, and some are suppressed.
Here are a few simple examples of personality parts that you might have:
The get things done, keep busy, robotic part…. The fun- playful-adventurous part…
The serious- practical-realistic part… The social-connecting-communicative part…
The creative, artistic, free flowing part…The driven to succeed part…
The loving- intuitive-nurturing part…and many others.
All of these parts are of course you. Some of them dominate and present themselves to the world much more often than the other parts. Does it matter?
In my opinion and based on my work with professional women from all walks of life… this is vitally important. It matters because it affects your ability to be truly happy. And that’s no small thing.
Let’s say that you operate mostly from the get things done, keep busy, serious, practical, realistic part of yourself in order to be successful at work and at home. Do you feel fully alive? Highly unlikely.
What if you are operating from a robotic part of yourself that’s on auto pilot? Maybe you are doing all the right things while also doing your best to keep rising emotions under control; because God forbid that you let those things out. Could your man handle that? Could you?
What would the world think if they ever saw the real YOU? Yup, you know the one I’m talking about. Are you enough? Are you afraid of the total rejection of YOU, so you only show the safe parts of yourself?
Of course, there is not much aliveness in the robotic part of you, is there? There’s certainly not much happiness there. Some women take on this robotic part as a protector because they were told or learned that being a feminine, soft girl is weak. Maybe you thought you had to be tough to be taken seriously. Maybe you learned that if you were soft and feminine and opened your heart that it would only result in pain.
So many women wear a masculine mask and keep the feminine aspects of themselves tucked away. Who has time for the soft feminine, intuitive, nurturing parts of you. Maybe it’s scary to imagine showing the world your vulnerability.
It’s one thing to present yourself to the corporate world as strong, hard driving, focused, tenacious and direct, because you have found great success there. It’s another to leave your softer feminine side behind in the process, and forget who you are at your core.
Can you put the masculine mask down? Can you tune into the intuition of your heart, or has it been a while? Can you love yourself fully while appreciating the wholeness of you? Can you be gentle and tender and compassionate towards yourself? Do you know how to nurture your feminine magnificence?
When you reconnect with the forgotten parts of the feminine YOU, you will be much happier. I know this because I see the amazing results in my work helping women remember their totality. The transformations are awe inspiring! The women radiate energy of feminine power. Unlocking the door to the parts that have been held back creates a sense of aliveness that has been missing most of their lives. Maybe you know the joy I’m talking about if you have made this discovery for yourself.
Sit quietly and breathe into your heart for a few minutes and FEEL the connection to your heart. Place your hand over your heart if it helps you focus. Take some time for you and listen to the whispers of wisdom that come from within. Water is fluid, soft, and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong. Lao-Tzu (600 B.C.)
